You will have to clean your toilet at some point in time, so why not do it right? Here are some simple tips to help you keep your home fresh and clean.

All you need is an ordinary cleaning sponge, bleach-free multi-purpose cleaner, and white vinegar with which to get started. The vinegar will act as an extra weapon against odor-causing bacteria in addition to keeping your toilet sparkling and smell-free when used with other cleaning supplies. • Pour about 1⁄2 cup to 1 cup of vinegar into the toilet bowl then place small drops on toothpicks around edge. The fizzing action from the vinegar will help lift up stubborn stains from your porcelain toilet, while also cleaning and deodorizing it at a molecular level. After 10 minutes, scrub with a long handled brush and flush away!

  • Clean immediately after use or wait overnight if you can’t make time in your busy schedule to do so. This will allow you to thoroughly remove any buildup that is creating an odor problem in your bathroom. It’s important that you clean as soon as possible so mold doesn’t have time to form due to bacteria buildup. Mold removal is something that requires an entirely different process than keeping a fresh smelling home!

  • Sprinkle baking soda throughout your toilet bowl (don’t forget corners), let sit overnight, pour some peroxide over top in the morning and scrub with a clean scouring pad.

  • Run white vinegar through your tank with cold water until it comes out clear. Vinegar will take care of everything going on inside your tank including removing mineral build-up inside pipe work connected to toilets.

  • Unclog drains by pouring one cup of baking soda followed by one cup vinegar down drain. Let stand ten minutes, pour hot water over top and watch clogs disappear!

  • An easy way to clean tubs: run bleach-free multi-purpose cleaner through bathtub with cool water until cleansed.

  • Hand sanitizer can easily rid your home of lingering odors left behind by pets when sprayed on carpets, rugs and other fabrics. You can find hand sanitizer at nearly every store in addition to being available online.
