It can be tough to get rid of sentimental items, but if it’s not something you use on a regular basis (once per month or more), chances are that if it isn’t serving any purpose in your life, it should probably go.

Even if that old teddy bear once meant something to you—just toss it out! You’ll thank yourself later.
If you really want to keep it, store it somewhere else and then leave it there; your closet has better things to offer.
Make Decisions
Think through each item before making a decision as to whether you need it.
Ask yourself how often you wear that shirt, will anyone else benefit from using those books? What do I gain by hanging onto these shoes?
Again, if an item hasn’t been used in over three months (or at all) — get rid of it!
Things won’t improve unless you make a commitment to eliminating
The less you own, the less stress your life will hold.
